Podere I Filari is located in one of the most beautiful area of Chianti . This particularly ambient property benefits from wonderfully panoramic views across a typical Chianti valley, with authentic rustic buildings, olive groves and vineyards. Filari itself dates from 13th century. Over the past 200 years the house has been restored, manteining its original features and hightlighting its rural structure-stone and brick work, dry stone walls, coat of arms and shrines. It is equipped with it own panoramic and spectacular swimming-pool (15x 5.5m) amindst olives trees and vineyard  considered the finest of all the area, available from May to September . Secluded from other houses, Filari is far removed from the noise of traffic and the daily hustle and bustle, and offers the tranquillity of this wonderfull countryside. It is close to the most important Tuscany art-towns that is possible to reach in a short time because of nearby speedway net.  The furniture of  the  apartments are of hight quality and chosen with taste and care. The reception is open from the end of April to the beginning of November. Its location, close to San Casciano, about 15 km from Florence, reachable from the Florence ? Siena highway (about 15 minutes from Piazzale Michelangelo). About 22 km from Certaldo, the birthplace of Boccaccio. About 40 km from the highway exit for Siena (the city of the Palio and home to many splendid artistic works, among which the Piazza del Campo, the most beautiful square in Italy and its splendid cathedral. About 34 km from San Gimignano, with its towers and medieval atmosphere. About 23 km from Greve in Chianti, with its beautiful, typical arcaded square, the country of Verrazzano and the fennel flavoured salame, the ?finocchiona?, that is still sold along with other specialties in the delicatessen in the square. It is one of the most renowned delicatessens in Italy and is known all over the world. About 4 km from San Casciano, equipped with a supermarket, every kind of shop, newspaper kiosks, open market on Monday morning. At about 3 km Bargino, with a small supermarket a good restaurant specializing in fish.Two other good restaurants Mamma Rosa and Ponterotto in less than 2 Km. It is possible to buy local produce in the area. First and foremost there is Filari?s own olive oil and there are some excellent, award-wining wines at the surrounding farms, a cheese called ?buccia di rospo? (toad rind) which has also won awards and is expected to become a ?typical Tuscan cheese? and also ricotta cheese made from sheep?s milk and salami.
