The thermal spa town, situated on the groundwater table of Mount Limbara at 566 meters elevation, boasts ancient origins from the Roman period. In the surrounding area there are numerous indications, as can be noted in many parts of the island, of prehistoric settlements such as the Nuraghe Majori.The Limbara Park consists of 22 areas of great naturalistic interest, among which the famous cork trees (in Calangianus there is a famous professional school for cork, the only one in Italy).The cold waters, low in mineral content, are particularly indicated in the treatment of problems of the urinary tract.
