Tuscany offers wonderful opportunities for nature lovers thanks to the love of cycling which is widespread in Tuscany and the recent interest in mountain biking which makes it possible to enjoy days full of healthful surroundings on the high-ground areas of this region in central Italy. Among them, it is necessary to mention the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines (between Pratomagno, Casentino and the upper Valdarno), the Chianti mountains (between Val di Chiana and Val Tiberina), as well as the Apuane Alps (Lunigiana and Garfagnana) and the so-called Pre-apennines (including Monte Amiata and the Metallifere hills).
