The town of Padula is located in the Cilento and valley of Diano park (700 m in elevation).The town is the birthplace of the famous police man Joe Petrosino (there is a permanent exposition in town dedicated to him).
The town is very interesting to visit, not only for the nature that surrounds it, but also for the various monuments and churches it has to offer such as the church of San Francesco (14th century), the church of the Annunziata (where still today the bones of 200 men of Pisacane are preserved), the baptistery of San Giovanni in fonte (5th century), the church of San Michele Arcangelo and more.Finally, descending from the town, you can visit the beautiful charter house of Padula, constructed in the 14th century, one of the most astonishing and largest in all of Europe.
