National park of Majella

National park of Majella
The vast and diversified national park, established in 1991, includes the provinces of Chieti, Pescara and Aquila, for a total of 75,000 hectares. This park includes the Majella massif, Morrone, Porrara and Pizzi, for a total of 60 summits, half of which are over 2000 meters. This park also includes very important habitats of historic and prehistoric civilizations together with all the beautiful animal and plant life that make this area one of the most exceptional in all of Italy. Large mammals were almost extinct in this area: deer, Roe buck, Morsicano bear, otter and Abruzzo chamois; but as of today, these animals have started to come back in their habitat and reproduce, thanks to the protection of the park
