Those who choose to come to Tuscany know very well the reason why. Everyone admits that this is the most beautiful region in Italy. It's geographical location, it's towns filled with culture, the sea and the mountains but mostly, however, is the countryside, which makes it perhaps one of the most beautiful regions in the world. Our Locanda Barbarossa, whose name is derived from a class of vines recognised for the exquisite taste of its grapes, is positioned in the heart of one of the most beautiful countryside in Chianti. Vines in the midst of olive trees, colourful flowers, and perfumes surround the Barbarossa. In a real oasis of peace close to beautiful Florence and to the characteristic small towns of medieval style, where you can still breathe the air of the past. Talking about Italian cuisine there is always the certainty of good food. Talking about typical Tuscan cuisine you immediately feel a certain longing. Yes, ingredients, wines, and ancient recipes from this beautiful region immediately build up a healthy appetite. It is not pure chance that Tuscan cuisine is renown around the world. And we, as good Tuscans, will never tire in our search of dishes that the grandparents of our grandparents used to cook. Those tastes, tastes of the past, can only be repeated using ingredients derived from biological agriculture, the ones clearly without pesticides. All of our courses are served in a romantic atmosphere. It is possible to dine inside the locale or under the terrace or, if you prefer, outside underneath the stars. At other times, there is the possibility of meeting in our restaurant, a musician who will embrace you with a pleasant listening experience. What more are you able to ask for than an evening filled with good food, and beautiful jazz or soul music? How can you spend your time best at the Locanda Barbarossa? Of course you cannot avoid visiting the surrounding beautiful small towns which are filled with history. A nice walk or a few miles on a bicycle along the roads of our wine country are only a few of the best choices for a peaceful holiday. A snack, possibly tasting a glass of good wine, in the vicinity of our salty water swimming pool is hard to resist. Further relaxation can be found with an afternoon rest in our silent apartments in the large farmhouse. The suites of the Locanda Barbarossa are all finely furnished. They range from approximately 35 square metres for the smallest one to approximately 100 square metres for the largest one. A few of the suites have, in addition to the main double room, an extra room with a single bed or a double couch bed. All of the suites are equipped with telephones and satellite television. The pride of the Locanda is, without a doubt, the Barbarossa suite which includes a main bedroom, a smaller single room, a living room which is decorated in the typical Tuscan style with fresco's on the walls and a lovely fireplace to add warmth to your experience. There is also a large bathroom equipped with both a Jacuzzi and a shower. Available to all of our guests is the use of the bright reading room, which is located in the main house. Here one has a lovely view of the town of San Casciano.
