Residence & SPA San Lorenzo a Linari is an ancient  medioeval convent built up on around 1000 d.C., located in a very panoramic position on the wonderful area of the Val di Merse and the Montagnola hills, only 8 km. far from Siena. The building has been then restructured from the famous sienese architect Baldassarre Peruzzi in XVI century, who transformed the ancient buildings in villa for rich families (his style is still clearly visible in the airy porticoes and the use of the colour burnt Sienna, which provides the perfect contrast with the surrounding green hills). Linari has been fortress, convent and aristocratic residence, headquarters of Dominations, scene of important weddings, political meetings and also imprisonment and torture; home of novice nuns, jurists, captains of arms and Sienese bankers. If the walls of Linari could talk they could told you many interesting stories.

The Residence has 20 apartments furnished in peasant style. To emphasize the personality of the lodgings they have names, like in a small rural community: Horseshoer, Blacksmith, Chierico and so on. Many apartments, of several size, offer a fireplace and all have kitchenette and private bath. They can accommodate from 2 up to 8 people, they are independent and they allow our hosts to live their vacation in absolute freedom. In the wonderful shadowy gardens around the property, there are two swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, barbecue, tables and playground area, tennis court and table tennis. A bar near the swimming pool is open during the summer period and is an ideal place for a fast snack, an pre-dinner aperitif or a refreshing drink, while admiring the fantastic landscape of Tuscany hills.

The pearl of Residence San Lorenzo a Linari is the Beauty & Wellness Center, realized in the old wine cellars of the villa. The Hosts can relax with sauna, hammam with aromatherapy, kneipp, talassotherapic Jacuzzi and relax and tea room. In the other spaces, the qualified and professional staff is at our hosts disposal for specific face and body treatments , massages and personalized programs for every requirement. Solarium, foot reflexology  and shiatsu are also available.
During the winter period week end packages of one or two days are available, in order to detach from stress of daily life and to regain relax and psycho-physical wellness.

Residence San Lorenzo a Linari is in an optimal position for people who wants to visit the greatest places of historical and artistic interest of the beautiful Tuscany, finding itself near Siena, and only 50 km. far from Florence, where Rinascimento and Italian art were born.
By the property is also possible to arrange guided tours to the Chianti area, a land you must walk through, discover and feel, in order to understand, through the visit to famous wineries and wine cellars and wine tasting, or to Montalcino, where the purity of its air, the bounty of its land and the ancient pride of its inhabitants have led to the birth of what is considered the best wine in the world, the Brunello.
Horseback riding guided tours are moreover available, with expert and specialized guides, in order to discover incontaminated places, through sweet hills, interminable paths delimited from secular cypresses, silent forests and medieval buildings; it would be difficult not to yield to the temptation to cross the refreshing waters of the river in saddleback to your horse.
We also offer our guests personalized cooking lessons in the Tuscan style, to help them discover our roots and culture in a funny and original way. At the end, a dinner in pure Tuscany style.
Sailing boat tours are available during summer season, along Tuscany archipelago, to spend one day visiting the wonderful coasts of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
